C.F. Abel WKO 208 (from 27 pieces for solo Viola da gamba)

$8.00

The viol family is a close relative to double basses, so I believe there is a treasure trove of music that works well on the double bass in the viol repertoire, especially for viola da gamba. This piece here is one such example.

I transposed this down a fourth (from D - A) to make it a more friendly register for the bass, as well as adapting all the chords to fit well in the hand. The PDF has an unmarked version, with Abel’s original bowings, and the second version is marked with my preferred fingerings and bowings.
